StartupSmart announced the winners of the StartupSmart Awards for 2012, sponsored by and hosted at the Pitcher Partners venue in Melbourne on March 27 by publishers Amanda Gome and James Thomson.

Explore Engage Children’s Interactive Education App – YoYo Go Spy Wins Gold!
In 2011 Explore Engage was commissioned by the agency WTF to develop ‘Book Games’ a mobile app series of interactive stories for the acclaimed Australian children’s author Jeanette Rowe. The project involved developing 4 titles in the range for the under 7 year old demographic. The titles included; Guess Zoo, Smartycat Frogs, My First Words and YoYo Go Spy. Check them out here
YoYo Go Spy was entered into the eLit Book Awards for publishers and authors worldwide creating electronic books the global marketplace. The eLit Awards are a global awards program committed to illuminating and honoring the very best of English language digital publishing entertainment.

Transformers 3: Defend The Earth Cleans Up Awards
In 2011 Explore Engage was commissioned by Agency: Digital Kitchen to build an Augmented Reality Application for the upcoming Paramount Release – Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. Explore Engage created a world’s first experience that used Augmented Reality GPS/geolocation to drive consumers to the cinema foyers to engage with the movie poster that came alive through the use of the mobile device camera. Once activated a game was started from the poster and then this unlocked another 360 degree game and provided a path to purchase movie tickets. 13th April 2012 – Transformers wins Gold Award at Seattle ADDYs
10th April 2012 – Transformers was selected as an Official Honoree at the 16th Annual Webby Awards in the Best Use of Device Camera category
12th February 2012 – Transformers was a Finalist in Appy Awards
11th January 2012 – Transformers AR App Named One Show Interactive Finalist
19th September 2011 – Transformers Wins FWA Mobile of the Day
